The first aircraft engine actually produced by the Glushenkov organization itself was the larger "GTD-3" turboshaft, which was introduced in 1964 and was used to power the twin-engine Kamov Ka-25 Hormone naval helicopter. The "GTD-3F" version is rated at 671 kW (900 SHP) and the "GTD-3BM" is rated at 738 kW (990 SHP). The Polish PZL organization also built the GTD-3 as the "PZL-10W" variant, for the twin engine PZL Sokol utility helicopter, a follow-on to the Mi-2.
A turboprop version of the GTD-3, the "TVD-10B", was introduced in 1970 and provides 716 kW (960 SHP). It is used on the twin-engine Antonov An-28 Cash light utility transport, and was also used on the experimental Antonov An-3 turboprop variant of the well-known An-2 Colt single-engine biplane utility aircraft. As the An-28 was also built by PZL in Poland, PZL built the TVD-10B as well.
The TVD-10B is a free-turbine turboshaft, with a mixed-flow compressor featuring fixed inlet guide vanes and six axial stages, followed by one centrifugal stage; an annular combustion chamber with a Turbomeca-style centrifugal burner; a two stage compressor turbine; a single stage power turbine; and a reduction gearbox. MTO power is 754 kW (1,011 SHP).
